MONDAY 31ST JANUARY 2022
Member Update – Important Announcement
On Saturday 29 January 2022, the Western Australian Government updated the Directions relating to proof of vaccination requirements, which become effective from today, Monday 31 January 2022.
What you need to know:
From Monday 31 January 2022, visitors to our gym, and group fitness class participants, will be required to show proof of vaccination to visit the Morley Sport & Recreation Centre. Given the last-minute changes, we wanted to let you know of the following:
Who will require proof of vaccination (or exemption)?
- Gym users (members and casuals)
- Group fitness participants
Based on the current Directions, proof of vaccination will not be required for individuals under 16 years of age, and those participating in or spectating in sports-based competitions or programs that meet the definition of community-based sports.
Where and when will I need to show it?
Gym users and group fitness participants will be required to show proof of vaccination at the main reception upon entry. Members will still be able to book in for group fitness on the app but are required to show your proof of vaccination before entering.
At this stage, the Centre is unable to store records relating to your vaccination status due to privacy reasons. However, we recommend members and visitors use the Service WA App.
What are acceptable forms of proof of vaccination? (Or exemption)
The acceptable forms of proof of vaccination are the same as those required at other venues and events across Western Australia. Further information about acceptable forms of vaccination can be located on the WA Government website or by clicking here.
What else do I need to do?
- Wear a mask at all times, unless during vigorous exercise;
- Check in using the SAFE WA app or the Service WA app, or by seeing a member of staff;
- Stay at home if you’re feeling unwell, and consider getting tested
- Check out social media pages for any updates or changes
- Follow all directions of our team members when visiting the Centre.
Morley Sports is required to adhere to all Directions issued by the WA Government relating to Covid-19. We ask our members and community to be patient with our staff, who are doing the very best that we can during these extraordinary circumstances.
We respectfully ask that you please be kind and patient as we navigate these new requirements. Patrons who are abusive or aggressive towards our staff will be asked to leave the Centre immediately.

What we’re doing to help our members

To do this, please see our reception or complete a suspension form online via My Portal, and one of our employees will be able to assist you.
